HIRJI Associates provide tutoring for optometry pre-registration students from community practices - better preparing them for their optometry their Final Qualifying Assessments. This tutoring, over  the years, has been initiated at the request of individual candidates, their supervisors or their employers. As of 2010 the College of Optometrists will be administering Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) following the Stage 2 Final Assessment in the workplace as the final hurdle before admission on to the General Optical Council register to practice optometry in the UK.

Professor Hirji has been involved in Stage 1 & 2 Assessments, in writing, editing and administering OSCEs in optometry, and is the principal tutor of the intensive and interactive revision tutorials as part of a small group of students recommended before attempting the College of Optometrists Stage 2 Assessments and  OSCEs.
